Head Start
The Johnson County Head Start / Pre-K Program is now accepting online applications for the 2026–2027 school year.
To register for the upcoming school year, your child must be 3 or 4 years old on or before August 15, 2026.
If your child is 4 years old and will attend Laurel Pre-K, please register under the Mountain City Site and include a note in the comments stating that your child will be attending Laurel Elementary.
Required Documents:
To complete your child’s application, please provide:
· Proof of Income
· Birth Certificate
· Up-to-date Physical Examination
· Current Immunization Record
· Lead Test (after age 2) – needed but not required to start
· These items can be faxed to 423-727-2667

If you have questions or previously had a child enrolled in Head Start or Pre-K, please contact Nikki Porter to have your child added to your application.
