We have been amazed at the amount of support and generosity that the region has provided Johnson County Schools, and we’re excited to continue passing these goods along to the entire community. If you have a need or require assistance obtaining necessities, please drop by one of our resource centers at any of our schools and get those important supplies that you may need.
With all of the hazardous road conditions and situations still present throughout the county, there will be NO SCHOOL next week, Monday October 7th through Friday October 11th, 2024. The following week of October 14th has been scheduled for Fall Break, which means that there will be no school during that time frame as well.
We will be meeting with the Johnson County Road Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department to discuss and evaluate road conditions and the upcoming repair time frames, as well as the possibility of getting schools back in session safely. That information will be made available to everyone once a decision has been made and we’re able to get a return schedule in place.

We have been so blessed by many school districts, churches and organizations across our state that have donated supplies for our students, families, and the community! Just a reminder that Mountain City Elementary school is the main resource center with lots of supplies and clothes being delivered there daily. We do have the basic supplies and water at the other schools as well.
The following services are offered at all our schools from 9-3 each day Monday – Friday.
Doe – Basic Supplies, Shower and Laundry Services
Laurel – Basic Supplies and Laundry Services (they finally have water and can offer laundry services and we are looking at a way to provide shower services)
MCE – Supplies, Shower and Laundry Services
*This site will be open Saturday Oct. 5th from 9-3 and Sunday Oct. 6th from 1-5
RCE – Basic Supplies, Shower and Laundry Services
JCMS – Basic Supplies and Laundry Services
JCHS – Basic Supplies, Shower and Laundry Services Homeless Laundry Center in the old Field House
Counseling services for students are available at each school. Please call the individual school to see the times they are available.
If there are specific needs that your family needs and you do not have access to get out, please complete the needs assessment online or call us at 727-2640 and we will get supplies to you.
